Press release - Canon departure

A fundraising campaign for the Memphrémagog Food Bank

DÉPART CANON - Helping more families with young children

Magog, March 15, 2021. - The Memphrémagog Food Bank is setting up a new service to serve families with children aged 0 to 5, with the exceptional support of 22 entrepreneurs from the École d'Entrepreneurship de la Beauce. A crowdfunding campaign is being launched today to help BAM optimize its operations to meet the growing demand for food aid. The goal is to raise $50,000 by June 2021 to contribute, in particular, to the purchase of necessary foodstuffs. The fundraising campaign has been launched on the Ruche platform (https://laruchequebec.com/fr/p...), making it possible for everyone to make a donation or purchase services or products on the same platform.

The C-18 cohort of the École d'Entrepreneurship de Beauce's elite program, made up of 22 entrepreneurs from across Quebec, is eager to take up the challenge of making a difference in the lives of needy children in the region, and thus enhance their socio-cognitive development. That's why they chose to get involved with BAM and give a helping hand to set up this new service. Nutrition in children aged 0 to 5 is crucial to their development, which is why it's so important to increase our capacity to serve them. BAM will be offering two food aid distributions a month to meet children's needs, including fresh produce. A free delivery service will be available if required.

The need for emergency food baskets is growing in the region, and the pandemic has had a negative impact on the financial situation of some people, who are now turning to food aid services to help them make ends meet. The funds raised will also be used to upgrade and optimize BAM's equipment and facilities.
