A fundraising campaign supported by 22 entrepreneurs

The Memphrémagog Food Bank (BAM) is setting up a new service to serve families with children aged 0 to 5, with the exceptional support of 22 entrepreneurs from the Beauce School of Entrepreneurship.

A fundraising campaign has just been launched to help BAM optimise its operations in order to meet the growing demand for food aid. The goal is to raise $50,000 by June 2021 to help purchase the necessary foodstuffs.

The fundraising campaign has been launched on the Hive platform (laruchequebec.com) and it is thus possible for everyone to make a donation or buy services or products on the same platform.

The C-18 cohort of the Beauce Entrepreneurship School's elite program, which is made up of 22 entrepreneurs from Quebec, wants to take up the challenge of making a difference in the lives of needy children in the region and thus improve their socio-cognitive development.

That's why they chose to get involved with BAM and give a helping hand to set up this new service. The nutrition of children aged 0 to 5 is crucial to their development and that is why it is so important to increase the capacity to serve them. The BAM will offer two food aid distributions per month in order to meet the needs of children by offering them, among other things, fresh products. A free delivery service will be available if needed.

It should be noted that there is a growing need in the region for food hampers and that the pandemic has had a negative impact on the financial situation of some people who now turn to food aid services to help them make ends meet.

The funds raised will also be used to upgrade and optimise the BAM's equipment and facilities.
