Food Drive 2024
The Memphremagog Food Bank is joining forces with the 24th edition of the Estrie and Centre-du-Québec Media Food Drive to fight hunger in the Memphremagog MRC. A street collection will take place on December 5, and a dozen food collection points are planned in Magog and Orford.
Hunger goes a long way
Over the past year, our organization has seen a 21% increase in the number of people it helps in the region. “This is unprecedented for us! Demand has increased for both emergency baskets and surplus food distribution,” says Karine Beaupré, BAM's General Manager. “Contrary to popular belief, it's not just single people who are knocking on our door. We're welcoming more and more working families who have jobs but can't make ends meet.”
How can I contribute?
MAKE A MONETARY DONATION
During the Media Food Drive on Thursday, December 5, our volunteers will team up with Michelin Magog and UsiHome squads to collect your donations from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. or from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sherbrooke and Calixa-Lavallée streets, across from Provigo Le Marché. Payment by cash or card.
We accept online donations on our secured Zeffy page and in person at 581 Sherbrooke Street in Magog during office hours.
DONATE FOOD ITEMS
We collect food donations Monday to Friday during our opening hours.
You can also drop off your non-perishable food items at one of the following collection points from November 18 to December 18:
- Avril Supermarché Santé: 2385 Main Street W., Magog
- Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphrémagog: 230 Main Street W., Magog
- Canicule Boutique, 291 Main Street W., Magog. From November 15 to December 15, the store will match your donations.
